Man arrested by Bay St. George RCMP in relation to multiple school break and enters in Stephenville

31-year-old Michael David Budden of Stephenville was arrested by Bay St. George RCMP on June 8, 2021, for a number of break and enters that occurred over the past year at two schools in Stephenville.

The investigation was conducted by Bay St. George RCMP with assistance from the RCMP General Investigation Section and RCMP Police Dog Services. Stephenville Primary and Stephenville Elementary were broken into a number of times over the last year, once in July of 2020, and three times in May of 2021.

Budden is charged with the following criminal offences in relation to these break and enters:

  • Three counts of break, enter and theft
  • Two counts of break and enter with intent
  • One count on mischief

He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court in August, 2021.
