Man arrested and drugs seized during search of two homes

The Halifax District RCMP Street Crime Enforcement, with the assistance of the Integrated RCMP/HRP Criminal Investigation Division and members from the Lower Sackville RCMP Detachment, arrested a Timberlea man and searched two homes following a drug trafficking investigation.

On May 19, police searched a home in Halifax and a home in Timberlea. A 38-year-old man was arrested without incident. The searches resulted in the seizure of cocaine, contraband cigarettes and cannabis.

The man was later released and is scheduled to appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on July 22 to face charges of Possession of Cocaine for the Purposes of Trafficking and Possession for the Purpose of Distributing Cannabis.

The investigation is ongoing and further charges are anticipated.
