News release

A man and a woman have been sentenced for dozens of charges related to crimes across southeastern New Brunswick and the Fredericton area.

The charges stem from more than a dozen separate incidents across Grand Bay-Westfield, Hampton, Sussex, Riverview, Saint John and Fredericton. RCMP members and analysts were able to connect the incidents, and identify two persons of interest in connection with the investigation. They also worked with the Fredericton Police Force and Saint John Police Force to identify other connected incidents.

A coordinated response was implemented involving members from the Sussex, Hampton, Codiac and Caledonia RCMP detachments. The RCMP Police Dog Services, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (drone), Southeast Crime Reduction Unit and RCMP Air Services, as well as other specialized RCMP services also assisted.

On April 29, 2021, RCMP arrested a 28-year-old man and 26-year-old woman in Berryton following a report of a stolen pickup truck from Welsford.

Following the arrests, Kyle Sheldon Dallon of Willow Grove was charged with 26 offences, and Allyson Breanna Hodgson of Willow Grove was charged with 19 offences, including theft, mischief, assault, flight from peace officer, and dangerous operation of a vehicle. On August 18, Dallon was sentenced to two and a half years in prison, and Hodgson was sentenced to two years in prison.

"This is why it is so important for members of the public to report crimes to police," says Sgt. Marie-Eve Gingras of the Sussex RCMP detachment. "With this information, we are able to identify trends in crimes being committed in our communities, determine those responsible, and ensure they are brought to justice."

The public plays an important role in helping to reduce, prevent and solve crime in their communities. Anyone with information about, or who suspects, illegal activity in their neighbourhood, is asked to contact their local police. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), by downloading the secure P3 Mobile App, or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca.
