Leduc RCMP Drug Unit investigation leads to drug trafficking charges

In April 2021, Leduc RCMP Drug Unit in partnership with Edmonton ALERT and Beaumont RCMP Drug Unit began an investigation into possible drug trafficking in the Leduc County area.

On April 23, 2021, with assistance of Leduc Crime Reduction Unit, a search warrant was executed at a residence in the area of Leduc County. As a result, police seized a small quantity of cocaine, methamphetamine and cash.

A 63-year-old male of Leduc County was charged with the following:

  • Trafficking - cocaine x2
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking x2
  • Proceeds of crime x2

A 50-year-old male of Edmonton was charged with the following:

  • Trafficking - cocaine x2
  • Proceeds of crime x3

A 63-year-old male of Leduc County was charged with the following:

  • Trafficking - cocaine x2
  • Proceeds of crime

Following judicial interim release hearings, the 50-year-old male and the 63-year-old male were released from custody to appear in Leduc Provincial Court on May 13, 2021, and the other 63-year-old male was released from custody to appear in Leduc Provincial Court on May 27, 2021.
