Howley man faces charges following search warrant at residence

A Howley man is facing a number of charges following a search warrant that was executed on July 20, 2021, at a residence in Howley.

RCMP officers from Deer Lake and Corner Brook Detachments entered the home on Third Avenue and located and seized approximately $25,000.00 in cash, a quantity of drugs and contraband cigarettes, as well as five firearms that were not properly secured.

The man was arrested, taken into police custody and was later released. He is set to attend court in October of 2021, where he will face charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking in cocaine and oxycodone, as well as unsafe storage of firearms and charges related to the possession of contraband tobacco.

The investigation is continuing.
