Hinton RCMP drug trafficking investigation results in multiple charges

On July 29 and 30, 2021, Hinton RCMP General Investigation Section, Hinton RCMP Detachment, Edson General Investigation Section, RCMP Police Dog Services and Grande Prairie ALERT (Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team) arrested five people in relation to a two-week long drug trafficking investigation. During the investigation police seized 56 grams of methamphetamine, 44 grams of cocaine and 0.5 grams of fentanyl. Four individuals have been charged and were held in police custody.

A 40-year-old male of Hinton, Alta. is facing charges for trafficking fentanyl and trafficking methamphetamine. He has been released from custody. He is scheduled to appear for court on Sept. 1, 2021, in Hinton, Alta.

A 42-year-old female of Hinton, Alta. is facing charges for trafficking methamphetamine and possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine. She is scheduled to appear for court on Sept. 1, 2021, in Hinton, Alta.

A 40-year-old male of Hinton, Alta. is facing charges for trafficking methamphetamine and trafficking cocaine. He is scheduled to appear for court on Aug. 18, 2021, in Hinton, Alta.

A 37-year-old male of Hinton, Alta., is facing the following charges:

  • Trafficking Methamphetamine
  • Trafficking cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine
  • Possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine
  • Possession of property obtained by crime (money)
  • Possession of a prohibited weapon

He is scheduled to appear for court on Aug. 18, 2021, in Hinton, Alta.

Charges are also pending against a 27-year-old female of Hinton, Alta., whose name may be released later pending further investigation.
