Headingley / Stonewall RCMP respond to fatal motor vehicle collision

At approximately 9:25 am on January 4, 2021, Headingley / Stonewall RCMP responded to a report of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 3, located near Sanford, in the RM of Macdonald.

The investigation has determined that a vehicle, being driven by a 39-year-old male from Sanford, was travelling northbound on Highway 3 when it lost control and collided with a southbound pickup truck, being driven by a 46-year-old male from Winnipeg.

The 39-year-old male was pronounced deceased on scene whereas the 46-year-old was transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. Slippery road conditions were present at the time of the collision and alcohol is not a factor.

Headingley / Stonewall RCMP along with the Criminal Collision Investigation Team and a Forensic Collision Reconstructionist, continue to investigate.
