Harbour Grace RCMP responds to tip from public and removes impaired driver from roadway

A 42-year-old Victoria man is without his vehicle and driver's licence after he was found to be over the provincial limit for alcohol on September 17, 2021, following a tip from the public.

At approximately 5:15 p.m., police received the report a suspected impaired driver parked in a vehicle on Salmon Cove Road between Victoria and Salmon Cove. The officers located the described vehicle, spoke to the man and observed signs of alcohol impairment. A roadside breath test was conducted which showed that the man was over the provincial limit for alcohol.

RCMP NL thanks the public for reporting suspected impaired drivers and continues to fulfill its mandate to protect public safety, enforce the law, and ensure the delivery of priority policing services in Newfoundland and Labrador.
