Harbour Grace RCMP responds to tip from public and arrests impaired driver

A 56-year-old man was arrested for impaired driving by Harbour Grace RCMP on July 11, 2021, following a tip from the public.

At approximately 7:45 p.m., police received the report of a suspected impaired driver. A short time later, officers located the described vehicle on Water Street in Harbour Grace and conducted a traffic stop. The driver, who showed signs of alcohol impairment, failed roadside breath testing and was arrested for impaired driving. He was transported back to the detachment where he provided breath samples that were more than the legal limit. His licence was suspended and he is scheduled to appear in court at a later date to answer to impaired driving charges.

The vehicle was seized and impounded.
