Harbour Grace RCMP conducts traffic stop and arrests impaired driver in Carbonear

A 45-year-old man from Alberta was arrested by Harbour Grace RCMP for impaired driving in Carbonear on November 24, 2021.

At approximately 1:15 a.m., police were on patrol in Carbonear and conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle on Goff Avenue. The driver showed signs of alcohol impairment and failed a roadside breath test. He was arrested for impaired driving and was transported to the detachment where he provided breath samples that were twice the legal limit. He was released from custody and is scheduled to attend court at a later date to face charges of impaired driving.

The man's driver's licence was suspended and the vehicle was seized and impounded.
