Halifax District RCMP arrest male seen breaking into vehicles

An 18-year-old Middle Sackville man is facing charges in relation to break and enter to vehicles.

At approximately 9:13 p.m. on March 15, Halifax District RCMP responded to a complaint of a male checking vehicles in the area of Darlington Dr. RCMP responded and located a suspect matching the description. As members were talking to the male, one of the residents exited their house to tell police they had caught the correct suspect. The suspect was arrested without incident and found to be in possession of stolen property.

Police were able to return the stolen property to the owner.

The suspect is facing charges of theft and possession of stolen property. He was released from custody and will appear in Dartmouth Provincial Court on April 21 at 9:30 a.m.

The RCMP would like to remind residents that many vehicle thefts are crimes of opportunity. Locking your vehicle and removing anything of value is the first step to protecting yourself from theft.
