Gander RCMP investigates theft of cable valued more than $60,000 from Beaver Brook Antimony Mine

Gander RCMP is investigating a theft of cable valued at more than $60,000.00, recently stolen from Beaver Brook Antimony Mine which is located in a remote area outside of Glenwood.

On May 26, 2021, police received the report of the theft which is believed to have occurred sometime over the previous week. A section of chain link fencing along the wooded side of the compound was breached and approximately 400 meters of cable, containing copper and aluminum, was severed off and stolen. The culprit(s) used an ATV to transport the cable from the compound and departed along a wooded trail.
