Gander RCMP conducts traffic stop resulting in seizure of drugs and cash

A quantity of cash and pills were seized by Gander RCMP following a traffic stop on the TCH near Little Harbour on August 29, 2021.

Three people are being investigated for possession for the purpose of trafficking following a traffic stop conducted by Gander RCMP on August 29, 2021, that led to the seizure of a quantity of drugs and cash.

At approximately 2:15 a.m., police were on the Trans-Canada Highway near Little Harbour and conducted a traffic stop with a car that had expired registration. The driver, a 26-year-old woman, was driving with a suspended licence and without insurance. Officers observed contraband tobacco on one of the two passengers in the car and suspected cocaine on the back seat. A search of the vehicle and the three occupants led to the seizure of a quantity of cash and illicit pills.

The car was seized and impounded and the investigation is continuing.
