Fort Saskatchewan RCMP execute another search warrant at local residence - Update

After conducting a thorough investigation into drug activity at a local residence, Fort Saskatchewan's Traffic and Crime Reduction Unit (T-CRU) was granted a Section 11 Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) Search Warrant. Yesterday, the Search Warrant was executed, and police were able to seize the following:

  • 27.8 grams of suspected Fentanyl
  • 30.6 grams of suspected Methamphetamine
  • 5.14 grams of suspected Cocaine
  • 275 grams of suspected GHB
  • 96 Capsules of Suspected Morphine
  • Several, functioning, digital Scales
  • Drug Packaging
  • Identity documents and Debit Cards

The estimated street value of the drugs seized is substantial.

A 40-year-old female from Fort Saskatchewan, has been charged with Unlawfully Possessing a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x 4, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Property (Currency) Obtained in the Commission of an Offence, Possession of Identity Documents x 2, and Fail to Comply with Conditions x 2. The 40-year-old female was remanded into custody and will make her first appearance in court on Tuesday, May 25, 2021.

This particular residence is well known to police for the drug activity going on there. Back at the end of March, T-CRU opened an investigation which also ended in a CDSA Search Warrant being granted. During that search, which took place on April 1, 2021, police seized 243 grams of suspected GHB, 19 grams of suspected Fentanyl, 7.2 grams of suspected Methamphetamine, several digital scales, drug packaging, and a recovered a stolen ATV.

In relation to the April 1, 2021, matters, the 40-year-old female was charged with Unlawfully Possessing a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking x2, Possession of a Controlled Substance, and Possession of Property (Currency) Obtained in the Commission of an Offence. A 33-year-old male from Fort Saskatchewan was charged with Possession of Stolen Property, and Mischief Under $5000 x 3. Both the 40-year-old female's and the 33-year-old male's matters in relation these offences are still before the courts.

The OIC of the local detachment, Insp. Mike McCauley said "These types of investigations take time and expertise to complete successfully, but the work pays off.
