Fisher Branch RCMP respond to armed & barricaded male

On October 16, 2021, at approximately 10:35 pm, Fisher Branch RCMP responded to a report of an assault at a residence located in Broad Valley, Manitoba.

It was reported that, after the assault, the 49-year-old male suspect, from the RM of Armstrong, had picked up several firearms and walked into the garage.

Officers from Fisher Branch and Arborg responded to the residence and provided containment while awaiting the arrival of the Emergency Response Team (ERT).

At 2:20 am, shortly after the arrival of ERT officers, the 49-male suspect exited the residence and was arrested without incident.

A search of the garage resulted in the seizure of 4 long barrelled firearms.

The accused was taken into police custody where he was released the following day for court scheduled January 11, 2022, in Peguis First Nation where he will face Assault and firearm-related offences.


There were no injuries reported and the investigation is continuing.
