Dunville man charged with violent offences following disturbance at a residence

Placentia RCMP arrested and charged 21-year-old Shane Nash Junior of Branch following a disturbance at a Dunville residence on January 15, 2021.

At approximately 2:30 a.m., police received a report of the disturbance. An individual was reportedly assaulted and threatened inside the home by Nash, who fled the area in a vehicle prior to police arrival. Officers attended the scene and learned that Nash was driving a vehicle, prior to the disturbance, in a dangerous manner and while impaired by alcohol. He had uttered threats to shoot police should they be called to the residence.

NASH was arrested on January 17, 2021, in Branch without further incident. A search warrant was executed on the residence in Branch and a firearm was seized. Nash was held in custody overnight and made a court appearance via teleconference on January 18, 2021. He was released from custody by the court on a number of conditions. His next court appearance is set for February 24, 2021.

NASH is charged with the following offences:

  • Assault with a weapon
  • Assault causing bodily harm
  • Overcoming resistance to the commission of an indictable offence (choking)
  • Uttering threats against a person
  • Dangerous driving
  • Impaired driving
