Drayton Valley RCMP execute search warrant and charge man for drugs and proceeds of crime

On Aug. 13, 2021, after a two-month long investigation, Drayton Valley RCMP General Investigation Section, with assistance from Drayton Valley RCMP General Duty members, executed a search warrant under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act for two different residences in Drayton Valley, Alta. Police seized suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine and cocaine along with drug trafficking materials and over a substantial amount of Canadian currency.

A 38-year-old male of Drayton Valley area, was arrested and is facing the following charges:

  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking of suspected fentanyl
  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking of suspected cocaine
  • Possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking of suspected methamphetamine
  • Possession of proceeds of crime over $5,000

He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Drayton Valley Provincial Court on Aug. 17, 2021.
