Cochrane RCMP lay drug trafficking charges

On July 15, 2021, members of the Cochrane Crime Reduction Unit stopped a vehicle at the Centex Gas Bar on the Stoney Nakoda First Nation. As a result of observations made by the officers, all four occupants of the vehicle were arrested.

A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed 25.4 grams of suspected Methamphetamine, 4.6 grams of suspected Fentanyl and a significant amount of Canadian currency.

A 53-year-old male and a 46-year-old female both from Stoney Nakoda First Nation have been charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance. Both have been released on bail with conditions. Their next court date is on August 3, 2021, in Cochrane.
