On July 18 around 2:30 a.m. Carrot River RCMP, Fire Services and EMS responded to a complaint of a two-vehicle collision three miles north of Carrot River on Highway #23. The collision involved a car with a lone driver and a school bus transporting 12 adults from a gathering in the area.
The driver of the car, a 19-year-old female from the Carrot River area, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The bus driver and passengers did not report any serious injuries.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor. The investigation is ongoing with the assistance of an RCMP Collision Reconstructionist.
