Bay St. George RCMP investigates thefts of catalytic converters and a break and enter

Bay St. George RCMP is investigating a number of thefts of catalytic converters and a break, enter and theft from a business that occurred recently in Stephenville.

On April 2, 2021, police received a report of mischief (damage to property), theft and a break and enter. Sometime overnight, catalytic converters were cut out of several Precision Enterprises' vehicles while parked at Containerized Sanitation on Carolina Avenue. The building of Containerized Sanitation was broken into and an undisclosed amount of cash was stolen.

On April 12, 2021, police received a report that a catalytic converter was cut out of an Atlantic Ready mix vehicle while parked on Brook Street in Stephenville. The incident is believed to have occurred sometime between April 9-12.

The investigations are ongoing.
