Bay Roberts RCMP is seeking assistance from the public in identifying a suspect in an alleged shoplifting incident that took place on December 2, 2021, from a local grocery store.

On Thursday, police responded to a report of a theft from a grocery store in Bay Roberts. At approximately 4:00 p.m., a man entered the store and loaded up his cart with various expensive grocery items. He departed the business a short time later, without paying for the estimated $900.00 worth of merchandise.

The suspect, wearing a hooded black and grey coat, a non-medical mask, a black and green ball cap, blue jeans and black shoes, was captured on store's video surveillance system. Once outside the store, the man was seen placing the stolen goods inside a small grey car, believed to be a newer model Chevrolet Spark. The vehicle had no licence plate attached.
