In March 2021, Barrhead RCMP began investigating an alleged 'chop shop' that was operating at a rural residence in Barrhead, Alta.
On April 7, 2021, with the assistance of Westlock RCMP, Eastern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit, RCMP Police Dog Service and the RCMP Auto Theft Unit a search warrant was executed at the residence.
Police located and seized several stolen firearms, tools, licence plates and what is believed to be methamphetamine.
Police also located several stolen vehicles on the property. RCMP seized a large amount of stolen property during the search warrant and continue to determine the rightful owners of the property.
Six people were arrested and charges are pending.
