Alberta RCMP Major Crimes unit investigate homicide of infant

On Aug. 25, 2021 at approximately 6:30 p.m., Stoney Nakoda RCMP responded to a residence on the Stoney Nakoda First Nation in regards to a welfare check on a 6-month-old infant.

RCMP made entry to the house, and located the infant deceased.

An autopsy occurred on Aug. 26, 2021, at the office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Calgary. The manner of death has been determined to be a homicide.

The Alberta RCMP Major Crimes Unit has assumed carriage of the investigation.
