Additional charge laid in ongoing sexual assault investigation

As a result of continued investigation, Cecil Wolfe is charged with an additional count of sexual assault, Section 271, Criminal Code. He will appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on March 9 at 9:30 a.m.

This is the seventh charge laid in RCMP jurisdiction related to this ongoing investigation. Saskatoon Police Service has charged Wolfe with four counts of sexual assault. RCMP continue to collaborate with the Saskatoon Police Service's Sex Crime Unit.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims from over the past twenty years in the communities of Loon Lake, Blaine Lake, Muskeg Lake Cree Nation, Saskatoon and surrounding areas. Victims reports Cecil Wolfe was working under the pretext of being a traditional healer or medicine man when they encountered him.

New charge laid in ongoing sexual assault investigation

As a result of continued investigation by Saskatoon RCMP General Investigation Section and Blaine Lake RCMP, Cecil Wolfe is charged with one additional count of sexual assault, section 271 of the Criminal Code. He will appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court next on February 16, 2022.

This is the sixth charge laid in RCMP jurisdiction related to this ongoing investigation. RCMP collaboration with the Saskatoon Police Sex Crimes Unit continues.

Investigators believe there may be additional victims from over the past twenty years in the communities of Loon Lake, Blaine Lake, Muskeg Lake Cree Nation, Saskatoon and surrounding areas. Additional victims sought in ongoing sexual assault investigation

2021-12-14

On September 21, 2021, the Saskatoon Police Sex Crimes Unit issued a media release (English only) announcing a charge of sexual assault against Cecil Wolfe. Investigators were concerned there may be other victims and asked anyone with information to contact police.

As a result of further victims coming forward since September, Saskatoon RCMP General Investigation Section collaborated with SPS Sex Crimes Unit as offences are reported to have occurred in Saskatchewan RCMP jurisdiction.

Victims reported Cecil Wolfe was working under the pretext of being a traditional healer or medicine man when they encountered him.

Cecil Wolfe is charged with six additional counts of sexual assault, section 271 of the Criminal Code. One charge is laid from Saskatoon Police jurisdiction and five are laid from Saskatchewan RCMP jurisdiction from the communities of Loon Lake and Muskeg Lake Cree Nation.

Cecil Wolfe was released on a court undertaking after his arrest on Wednesday December 8, 2021. He will appear in Saskatoon Provincial Court on January 17, 2021 at 2:00 p.m.
