43-year-old man arrested following impaired operation of all-terrain vehicle

The West Prince RCMP arrested a 43-year-old man following a report of impaired driving in O'Leary, PEI.

On July 29, 2021, at approximately 11 a.m., police responded to a report of a man operating an all-terrain vehicle while impaired on Main Street in O'Leary.

Once on scene, police found the driver of the ATV asleep at the wheel. The man was arrested for being in care of an all terrain vehicle while impaired and was transported to the West Prince detachment. He was later released and is scheduled to attend Summerside Provincial Court on September 29. Police also impounded the ATV and issued the driver a 90-day driver's licence suspension.

The RCMP is reminding the public that operating any type of motor vehicle while impaired is criminal and dangerous. If you see a suspected impaired driver, call 911 immediately. Your description of the driver, vehicle, licence plate number and direction of travel can assist police in finding and getting an impaired driver off the road.
