The Yukon RCMP remains committed to ensuring public safety during these challenging times. No matter how busy we are in the course of our ongoing duties, there is always time to say thank you.
On April 7, 2020, Chief Superintendent Scott Sheppard, Commanding Officer of the Yukon RCMP, presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Yukon Brewery for their tremendous show of support to our frontline officers and other critical workers across the Territory during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Approximately one month ago, in the middle of March, a casual conversation between friends – one member of the Yukon RCMP and one employee of the Yukon Brewery – led to the discussion of dwindling supply of hand sanitizers among other items. It was then that Yukon Brewery stepped up to the plate by making gallons and gallons of the precious liquid, and, generously delivered them to the RCMP Headquarters for distribution to detachments, paramedics, fire fighters and other critical workers in need.
Chief Superintendent Sheppard says, "Across the globe we are witnessing the unprecedented impact this pandemic is having on our lives. Equally, we have seen the kind, calm residents and business owners of Yukon offer their assistance and support. We are deeply touched by your support and on behalf of the Yukon RCMP and all the other critical service workers in Yukon, I wish to express our sincere appreciation and gratitude."
