Yorkton RCMP - Train collision with pedestrian

On August 17, 2020 at approximately 8:12 p.m., Yorkton RCMP responded to a report of an adult male pedestrian who had been struck by a train near Betts Avenue in the City of Yorkton, SK.

Emergency Medical Services attended the scene and transported a 72-year-old male to hospital with what were described as life-threatening injuries. On August 18, 2020, Yorkton RCMP were informed that the male had passed away.

Yorkton RCMP have concluded their investigation. The Canadian Pacific Railway Police Service continues its investigation.

Yorkton RCMP would like to thank all community partners for their assistance with this investigation, including Yorkton Fire, Yorkton EMS, STARS Air Ambulance and the Canadian Pacific Railway Police Service.
