Whitehorse RCMP arrest man for trafficking cocaine

The afternoon of February 21, 2020, the Yukon RCMP Crime Reduction Unit arrested a Whitehorse man for trafficking cocaine. During a search of his vehicle police seized:

  • Pills believed to be Percocet (Oxycodone);
  • A quantity of suspected crack cocaine.

Daniel Cashaback, 21, has been charged with two counts of Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, and two counts of Failing to Comply with a Recognizance related to outstanding Trafficking charges out of Saskatchewan.

"Our Crime Reduction Unit will continue to pursue and target suspects who participate in illicit drug distribution," says Sgt. Ian Fraser with the Yukon RCMP's Crime Reduction Unit. "We are committed to protecting our citizens and keeping drugs out of our communities."

Mr. Cashaback has been released on several conditions including to reside as directed by his bail supervisor, not to possess or consume illegal drugs, not to possess firearms, ammunition, explosive substance or any weapon as defined by the Criminal Code. He will next appear in court on March 18, 2020.
