Whitehorse RCMP have arrested Ben Devellano, 33, for the following under the Criminal Code:
- Flight from police
- Operation of a motor vehicle while impaired by drug
- Assault on Police with a Weapon
- Obstruction
- Mischief over $5000
On the evening of December 17, 2020 at approximately 9:05 p.m., Whitehorse RCMP received a report of an intoxicated man at a business on 2nd Avenue. Upon arrival, police detained Ben Devellano for an impaired driving investigation.
Subsequently, Mr. Devellano became uncooperative and fled from police in his vehicle, damaging a police vehicle and causing minor injury to one of the attending officers in the process
He turned himself into Whitehorse RCMP the morning of December 21st, 2020 and was remanded into custody. His next court appearance is January 6th, 2021.
