Twillingate RCMP is seeking assistance from the public following an investigation into an arson of a utility trailer and fishing seine that occurred on June 22, 2020.

At approximately 6:00 p.m., Twillingate RCMP responded to a report of a trailer fire just off of Route 340 in Twillingate. The trailer, which was parked in a field on the side of the road, contained a large commercial fishing seine that was completely destroyed. The value of the property is estimated at more than $50,000.00. It was raining earlier that day and with no natural ignition source for the blaze, police suspect arson.

The investigation is continuing.
