Traffic stop leads to arrests and drugs seized in Eskasoni

On June 17, Eskasoni RCMP members conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that led to two people being arrested and drugs being seized.

Police discovered that the driver of the vehicle, Jasmine Mary Lindsay Stevens, 21, and passenger James Robert Morris, 30, both of Eskasoni, were on conditions to not be in contact with each other. They were arrested for breaching their conditions. Their vehicle was also searched and an assortment of controlled drugs and substances were located. The drugs were seized and are being sent for lab testing.

Stevens and Morris were remanded and are scheduled to appear in Sydney Provincial Court on June 22, 2020. The investigation is ongoing.
