Sussex RCMP asking for public's assistance following incident of dog being killed

The Sussex RCMP is asking for the public's assistance after a dog was killed in Waterford, N.B., a community east of Sussex Corner.

Sometime during the evening hours of August 1, 2020, a white and brown border collie was shot on McFarlane Road. The dog later died as a result of its injuries.

Police and the New Brunswick SPCA have been investigating the incident and are now looking for information from the public that could further the investigation. A necropsy will be conducted.

The RCMP is asking anyone who has information about this incident or who may have been in the area during the evening hours of August 1 and witnessed suspicious activity or heard gunshots to call the Sussex RCMP detachment at 506-433-7700.
