On Oct. 29, 2020, the Sundre RCMP, with the assistance of the RCMP Southern Alberta Crime Reduction Unit, arrested two individuals who were staying at a local hotel in the Town of Sundre. The police obtained a search warrant for their hotel room and the subsequent search yielded a varied quantity of illegal drugs, which included cocaine, fentanyl and methamphetamine. A substantial amount of Canadian currency was also located and seized as the cash was allegedly obtained through proceeds of crimes.

The female youth was given court-imposed conditions and released to a relative and will speak to her matter in provincial court in Didsbury at a later date.
