On November 25, 2020, at approximately 9:15 am, Stonewall and Headingley RCMP received a report of a single-vehicle collision on Provincial Road 247 between La Salle and Sanford.
Initial investigation has determined that a SUV heading westbound on PR 247 lost control on the gravel road, rolled into the north ditch and then into a field adjacent to the roadway. The driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, a 17-year-old female from La Salle, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Alcohol does not appear to be a factor and it appears the deceased was wearing a seatbelt.
The investigation continues with the assistance of a RCMP Forensic Collision Reconstructionist.
