Stanley Mission RCMP arrest two individuals and lay charges for assault with a weapon

On May 19, 2020, Stanley Mission RCMP received a 911 call from a residence in Stanley Mission for a reported assault with a weapon.

Upon arrival, officers located a 19-year-old female in medical distress. The victim was reported to have been forcibly injected with a substance believed to be methamphetamine. A male and female were arrested on scene. Several intravenous needles were seized from the individuals involved. The female victim was transported to hospital in La Ronge and released the following morning.

Both individuals were held in custody for court in Stanley Mission on May 21, 2020.

39-year-old Charlene Young of Saskatoon, SK, is charged with:

  • Administering a Noxious Substance, Sec. 245 of the Criminal Code;
  • Assault with a weapon, Sec. 267 of the Criminal Code;
  • Failure to comply with a Release Order, Sec. 145(5)(a) of the Criminal Code;
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance, Schedule I, Sec. 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act; and
  • Trafficking of a Controlled Substance, Schedule I, Sec. 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

41-year-old Stanley Starblanket of Saskatoon, SK is charged with:

  • Administering a Noxious Substance, Sec. 245 of the Criminal Code;
  • Assault with a weapon, Sec. 267 of the Criminal Code;
  • Possession of a Controlled Substance, Schedule I, Sec. 4(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act; and
  • Trafficking of a Controlled Substance, Schedule I, Sec. 5(1) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Stanley Starblanket was remanded into custody and is scheduled to make his next appearance in La Ronge court on May 27, 2020.

Charlene Young was released from custody on a release order including several conditions is scheduled to make her next court appearance in Stanley Mission June 9, 2020.
