On August 15, 2020, at approximately 5:35 a.m., Southey RCMP were called to a fatal single vehicle rollover on Piapot First Nation, SK.

Cupar EMS and STARS Air Ambulance attended the scene and confirmed that the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle, a 22-year-old female from Piapot First Nation, was deceased.

Initial investigation indicates that the vehicle was travelling north on a gravel road when control of the vehicle was lost, resulting in a rollover. The driver had been ejected from the vehicle.

An examination of the scene was completed by a Saskatchewan RCMP Traffic Reconstructionist and the Saskatchewan Coroner's Service. White Butte RCMP Police Dog Services surveyed the area to confirm there were no other victims at the scene of the collision.

The vehicle was seized for further investigation.

The investigation is ongoing.
