News release

On December 18, 2020, at approximately 10:05 pm, Selkirk RCMP were patrolling on Colville Road in the RM of St. Clements when they observed a golf cart, with two occupants, driving erratically. Officers initiated a traffic stop, however the driver refused to stop for police and fled down a narrow trail.

The passenger, a 16-year-old male, was arrested, but later released without charges.

The 15-year-old driver, from the RM of St. Clements, is facing several charges including Impaired Operation of Motor Vehicle, Impaired Operation with over 80 mg %, Flight from Peace Officer and Resisting Arrest. He was also charged under provincial acts for Driving without a Driver's Licence and Consumption of Liquor by a Minor.

He is scheduled to appear in court on February 26, 2021.

Selkirk RCMP continue to investigate.
