Search in Yarmouth County results in drug and firearm charges

Three people have been charged with drug and firearm offences and others are facing charges following a search in Yarmouth County.

On August 26, following information being received about individuals selling cocaine from a residence in Kelly's Cove, a search warrant was executed by members of the Yarmouth Town General Investigative Section (GIS), Yarmouth Town, Yarmouth Rural and Western Traffic Services. During the search, police seized cocaine, drug paraphernalia and a firearm. Five people were arrested and are facing charges as a result.

Freddie Shannon Keeping, 41, of Yarmouth, and Matthew William Hart, 34, of Kelley's Cove, have been charged with Possession of Cocaine. Jennifer Joy Hurlbert, 36, of Kelley's Cove, has been charged with firearms offences. Two others are facing charges of Possession of Cocaine.

Keeping and Hart are scheduled to appear in Yarmouth Provincial Court by video today. Hurlburt and two others are expected to appear in court at a later date.
