The May long weekend typically marks the start of summer vacation plans for many across the province.
As we begin the weekend, we need to continue to commit to following the Public Health Orders and flattening the curve by continuing to social distance and avoid non-essential travel.
Enforcement of dangerous driving including distracted driving, failing to wear seatbelts and impaired driving continues to be a focus across the province. RCMP Traffic Services continues to patrol Saskatchewan's roads to help keep you, your families and communities safe.
As an update to previously released information, below is a summary from the past week of COVID-19-related calls for service in Saskatchewan RCMP jurisdiction.
From May 8 to May 14, 2020, inclusive, there were 103 calls for service related to COVID-19:
- 18 complaints of social gatherings of over 10 people;
- 20 complaints of people failing to self-isolate when allegedly required to do so;
- 65 other COVID-19 related complaints; and
- 9 charges were also laid.
The Public Health Order is still in place and we continue to work closely with Saskatchewan Health Authorities to investigate any potential violations of the Order.
The information above tells just one part of the story of how the Saskatchewan RCMP is committed to keep communities safe. Officers continue to respond to calls for service as we head in to the long weekend.

Correction to last week's report: Since March 1 and including this week's update, 28 charges have been laid related to COVID-19. Between May 1-7 two charges were laid.
