The Saskatchewan RCMP Crime Reduction Teams are committed to enhancing the safety of citizens in Saskatchewan.

In July 2020, the Saskatchewan RCMP Crime Reduction Team (CRT) in North Battleford initiated a Controlled Drugs and Substances Act investigation targeting drug activity in North Battleford, SK. The two-month investigation culminated in the arrest this week of three North Battleford residents.

The Saskatchewan RCMP CRT in North Battleford requested three search warrants to examine a residence, a vehicle and a hotel room in North Battleford. On September 20, 2020, the search of these three locations resulted in the seizure of one ounce of cocaine, smaller amounts of methamphetamine and hydromorphone as well as several prohibited weapons.

Kyle Caron, (40), Dean Lafreniere, (48) and Amanda Wahobin, (31) are each facing charges of possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine, possession of hydromorphone and weapons offences. At the time of her arrest, Amanda Wahobin was wanted on warrants for property offences, possession of crystal meth and failure to appear in court.

All three individuals have been released from custody and are scheduled to make their first appearance at the North Battleford Provincial Court on November 9, 2020.

Over the course of the two-month investigation, the Saskatchewan RCMP Crime Reduction Team (CRT) in North Battleford was assisted by the Saskatchewan RCMP Gang Task Force in North Battleford and North Battleford RCMP.

The mandate of the Saskatchewan RCMP Crime Reduction Team is to assist RCMP detachments across the Province in capturing prolific offenders, repeat offenders and gang members as well as addressing any specific public safety issue a Saskatchewan RCMP detachment area is experiencing.
