October 7, 2020
Rossburn, Manitoba

News release

On October 6, 2020, at approximately 7:30 pm, Rossburn RCMP were patrolling the area when an officer came across a two-vehicle collision on Highway 264 at the junction of Highway 45 in Rossburn, Manitoba. It was determined that a SUV was attempting to turn south onto Highway 264 when it struck a car heading north.

When the officer exited the police vehicle at the scene and began to speak to those involved in the collision, the driver of the SUV returned to his vehicle and attempted to drive away. He pressed on the accelerator, but the car was in park.

The officer removed the man from the vehicle and identified that he was impaired. He was taken into custody and an Operation While Impaired by Alcohol investigation began.

A 69-year-old male from Rossburn is facing charges of Operation While Impaired of Motor Vehicle and Failure or Refusal to Comply with Demand.

The male has been released and will appear in court in Rossburn in December.
