Rocky Mountain House RCMP - Investigation leads to the arrest of wanted

On Tuesday Feb. 11, 2020, the Rocky Mountain House RCMP Crime Reduction Team were conducting an investigation when they located a male who was wanted in connection with a recent assault.

Police conducted a traffic stop, and the suspect was arrested without incident. A loaded sawed off shotgun and equipment used to forge credit cards was located and seized.

A 31-year-old male of no fixed address was charged with 15 offences, some of which include:

  • Assault
  • Mischief under $5000
  • Possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle
  • Unauthorized possession of a firearm
  • Possess of a firearm obtained by crime
  • Unsafe storage of a firearm
  • Possession of instruments intended to forge credit cards
  • Possess a firearm and ammunition contrary to prohibition order (x4)

He was released after a judicial hearing with conditions and is set to appear in Rocky Mountain House provincial court on Feb. 19, 2020.
