Rocky Mountain House RCMP investigate pedestrian fatality

On Jan. 25, just prior to 6 a.m., the RCMP in Rocky Mountain House responded to a complaint of a disturbance on the O'Chiese First Nation. Responding members determined that there was a motor vehicle collision, and a young female pedestrian was struck.

The 17-year-old female was transported to the hospital with critical injuries. On Jan. 27, the female succumbed to her injuries and died in the hospital.

The investigation is ongoing. A collision analyst attended to conduct a scene examination.

The 22-year-old female driver was arrested on scene, and charges are anticipated pending the outcome of the investigation.
