RCMP Traffic Services West seizes truck operated by a driver without a licence and insurance on June 24, 2020.

RCMP Traffic Services West issued an appearance notice for court on a driver owing more than $11,000.00 in fines, who was driving without a driver's licence and insurance on June 24, 2020.

At approximately 3:00 p.m., the officer, who was following up on a tip provided by the public, pulled the vehicle over on Route 430 near Deer Lake and determined that the driver had no driver's licence and the vehicle was not insured. The 51-year-old Reidville man was charged with similar offences in January 2019, and the vehicle he was operating at that time was seized.

The man is now set to appear in court in September 2020, to answer to his outstanding fines and new charges under the Highway Traffic Act for operating a vehicle without a driver's licence and operating a vehicle without insurance. Police seized and impounded the vehicle.

RCMP NL continues to fulfill its mandate to protect public safety, enforce the law and ensure the delivery of priority policing services in Newfoundland and Labrador.
