RCMP Traffic Services Labrador charges man for excessive speeds on Route 510 near Happy Valley-Goose Bay

A 50-year-old Happy Valley-Goose Bay man will find it a little more difficult getting from point A to point B after Traffic Services Labrador seized his vehicle and suspended his licence for excessive speeding.

On March 11, 2020, at approximately 11:00 a.m., Traffic Services Labrador was patrolling Route 510 near Happy Valley-goose Bay. Police observed an SUV driving at a high rate of speed. The officer obtained a radar reading of 135 km/hr in a posted 80 km/hr speed zone.

In addition to the 3-day impoundment of his vehicle and a 7-day licence suspension, the man was issued a traffic ticket for speeding more than 51 km/hr over the posted limit.

RCMP NL warns drivers of the dangers of speeding and remains committed to the enforcement of aggressive drivers and road safety.
