RCMP Major Crimes Unit Investigate death – Update – Charges laid

Following the February 1 suspicious death of a 26-year-old Wetaskiwin male, Presley Dean Saddleback (24) of Wetaskiwin has been arrested and charged with manslaughter.

The victim was known to Saddleback and the incident was believed to be isolated.

Saddleback has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in Provincial Court in Wetaskiwin on February 20th 2020.

RCMP Major Crimes Unit investigate death

The RCMP are investigating a suspicious death that occurred on Feb. 1, 2020 in Wetaskiwin.

At 7:26 a.m. on Feb. 1, Wetaskiwin RCMP responded to a residence for a complaint of a male not breathing. EMS attended and declared the 26-year-old Wetaskiwin male deceased. Investigation has revealed that the male was involved in a previous altercation outside of the residence. RCMP Major Crimes Unit were deployed and have taken carriage of the investigation.

The RCMP believe that this was an isolated incident.
