RCMP Major Crimes Unit investigate death of male - Update

RCMP have now arrested and charged a male in relation to a reported stabbing on Feb. 19, 2020 at a residence on Little Red River Cree Nation north of Fort Vermilion.

An 18-year-old male of Fox Lake was charged with manslaughter in the death of a 19-year-old male. The victim was known to the accused, and the incident is believed to be isolated.

The accused was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in Edmonton Provincial Court today.

RCMP Major Crimes Unit investigate death of male

On Feb. 19, 2020 at approximately 9:00 a.m., Fox Lake RCMP responded to a report of a stabbing at a residence on Little Red River Cree Nation north of Fort Vermilion. An adult male was located deceased on scene.

An autopsy will be conducted today at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton. The RCMP Major Crimes Unit along with Fox Lake RCMP continue to investigate.
