RCMP limiting front counter service across New Brunswick

March 17, 2020
Fredericton, New Brunswick

News release

The New Brunswick RCMP is limiting front counter services at RCMP HQ in Fredericton and detachments across the province, as part of provincial and federal efforts to limit the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Beginning at noon on March 17, 2020, in-person services such as fingerprinting, criminal records checks, vulnerable sector checks and general information requests will be suspended until further notice. Front counter service will still be available for reporting of crimes and/or non-emergency complaints. Whenever possible, members of the public should call rather than reporting to a detachment in person. A full list of detachment phone numbers is available here (http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/detach/en/find/NB)

For emergencies, please call 911.

The RCMP is closely monitoring the situation with COVID-19. All RCMP police officers responding to calls for service have the necessary training, procedures and personal protection equipment to keep themselves and the public safe.
