RCMP investigating suspicious fires along bicycle path

The Northeast District RCMP is investigating three suspicious fires along a bicycle path in Saint-Simon, N.B.

On May 27, 2020, shortly after 7: 45 p.m., police received a report from the Caraquet Fire Department of three small fires along a bicycle path near Saint-Simon Street. The fire department was able to extinguish the fires before they spread.

The investigation has determined the fires to be suspicious in nature. Two individuals riding a blue and white all-terrain vehicle were seen leaving the area shortly after the fires started.

Police are asking anyone with information about these suspicious fires or who may have been in the area at the time and witnessed the incident, to contact the Caraquet RCMP detachment at 506-726-5222.
