The Northeast District RCMP is asking for the public's assistance in their investigation of the theft of mail and damage to mailboxes in at least eleven communities on the Acadian Peninsula.

In the overnight hours between January 26 and January 28, 2020, someone forced open numerous community mailboxes and stole mail. The incidents took place in Tracadie Beach, Tracadie, Pont-Landry, LeGoulet, Robichaud Settlement, Caissie Road, Tabusintac, Rivière-du-Portage, Oakpoint, Pokemouche and on the Esgenoôpetitj First Nation.

Anyone with information about these incidents or who may have recently been a victim of mail theft, is asked to contact the Tracadie RCMP at 506-393 3000. Information can also be provided anonymously through Crime Stoppers by calling 1-800-222-TIPS (8477), or by Secure Web Tips at www.crimenb.ca.
